Shocking Track Meet Video Shows Aftermath of Austin Metcalf Stabbing Case
Newly released video evidence shows Karmelo Anthony fleeing after the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a Texas high school track meet.

Anthony, now 19, was convicted of murder earlier this month and sentenced to 35 years in prison for killing Metcalf during a confrontation at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco.
The stabbing happened on April 2, 2025, during a Frisco ISD district track meet. Both teens were 17 at the time and attended different schools.
According to investigators, the confrontation began near a team tent area in the bleachers. Metcalf and others reportedly asked Anthony to leave the tent, leading to a brief altercation.

Authorities said Anthony then pulled out a knife and stabbed Metcalf once in the chest before running away.
The newly released surveillance footage shows the chaotic moments after the stabbing. People can be seen reacting as the scene quickly turns from a school sporting event into an emergency.
Other released evidence includes video from Anthony’s arrest and images of the knife that was introduced during the trial.
During the trial, Anthony’s defense argued that he acted in self-defense. Prosecutors rejected that claim and argued that the use of deadly force was not justified.

The jury ultimately convicted Anthony of murder. His legal team has since filed a notice of appeal.
The case drew national attention because of the age of both teens, the setting of the stabbing and intense debate over self-defense, race, school safety and courtroom fairness.
Austin Metcalf’s family has described him as a talented athlete, a beloved son and a twin brother whose life was taken during what should have been a normal school event.

The release of the video and evidence has reopened public reaction to the case, with many viewers focusing on the brief but devastating sequence of events after the stabbing.
The case remains emotionally charged, but the legal outcome is clear for now: Anthony has been convicted and sentenced, while his appeal process begins.
